Any fave pick/s of any particular scene/s on dvd (not necessarily from just any film musical/s or dance oriented film/s, but can also be from any music video/s on dvd) that make you want to get up and dance whenever you see and / or hear it, or used to at one point.

Any of the music scenes from The Commitments. Of course, I can't dance, so I always have to watch that flick alone! :)

As gruesome as it turns out, the rave scene at the beginning of Blade is a good one...

The Hey Bulldog scene near the end of Yellow Submarine!
I can't believe that scene was cut from the original release! That song really kicks ass!

-"Brand New Girl" from "Earth Girls Are Easy"

-Most every number from "Talking Heads: Stop Making Sense"

-"Going Wild" from "Wendy O. Williams: Bump N Grind"

More to come when more of my fave titles get released on DVD.

Sincerely,

While I will never actually "get up and dance" when watching a film...
Okay I did get up and perform the LAMEST dance number for my wife while watching:
"The Touch" in The Transformers: The Movie

BradW, that's great! My son likes to dance to that number, too...

The last time I got up and danced was a couple of weeks ago, during the climactic "opening night" scene in Xanadu

:b Guilty pleasure!!

Can't say that I've ever hauled my booty out of the easy chair to shake it during a movie, but if I ever do, it will be to Twist & Shout during the parade scene of Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

I don't know the name of the song but the part in Cheech and Chong's Up In Smokewhen everyone starts showing up at Strawberry's house when Chong's inside and Cheech and Strawberry are out trying to score some smoke. The song that plays just makes me want to get up and get down every time I here it. Also sense I love the song when they play Run's House by Run DMC in Chasing Amy

Save The Last Dance. Many scenes including the ones where she is getting ghetto dance coaching, and her final contemporary audition.

There's a running gag at our house. Whenever the TV show "Livin' Single" comes on, everyone gets up, no matter what and tries to re-enact the dance moves of the dancer performing while the title song is being played. Many injuries have been associated with this foolishness. Talk about good material for "America's Favorite Home Video".

One other thing we all use to do. At the beggining of "The Simpsons", when they all finally sit down to watch TV, everyone in the family laughs as loud as they possible can. We are wierd but little silly stuff like this is what childhood memories are all about.
