I just noticed that The Digital Bits has posted coverart for Father of the Bride: 15th Anniversary Edition and has it scheduled to be released on 5/7. This is one of my favorite movies and I've always wanted to see a re-release, but I had no idea this was coming out. Anyone have any specs?

    According to DVDAnswers:

    Anamorphic Widescreen
    Dolby Digital 5.1
Behind the Scenes Look at the Making of Father of the Bride
Steve Martin and Martin Short Interview with each other
    Director's Commentary

I'll be buying this for my sister for her birthday this July.

How come they can remaster this title with a New ANAMORPHIC transfer but they couldn't for the SE: or RANSOM?

Interesting. No 2.0 surround on this one. Only remixed.

    And no trailer.

Ransom wasn't updated because (AFAIK) there isn't a 16:9 NTSC master for that re-release. That was just utilizing the same master for overseas releases.

Actually Ransom was on Starz HD last month and it looked amazing. So a HD master does exist.

what's on it ? a bad audio track it sounded like to me.

    yuk, yuk, yuk.

figures. every review i've come across seems to praise this track, but it sounded pretty awful to me. especially the center channel. sounded as if all the high frequencies had been filtered out of it - like a low bit rate recording. very unnatural. i've heard budget mgm titles that sound far better. and PQ isn't exactly pushing the technology to it's limits either.

I don't understand why they didn't just release an anamorphic SE of the sequel while they were at it. Now I've got a mismatch of Bride anamorphic & crappy nonanamorphic Bride 2.

Funny you mention that, the same week something called 'Father of the Pride: Complete Series' came out.

I could have sworn that was both movies, till I looked more closely.

Seriously, they should have redone both and sold them together.
