i have to agree .

i heavily edited the original post that Neal saved in his response post after this with this one bc i wasn‘t able to check the gb size . i have a follow up after Neal’s . whew! 😅

so, i initially thought the one i had was real, turns out i’m not so sure now bc i just found out its region free so i don’t think it is. i got mine on ebay so the one’s in Wal Mart who knows . btw , i didn’t notice any compression when sampling some episodes. in fact some of the eps were really sharp and others were so so but i had heard that the tranfers weren’t that good on the real sets anyway so i was expecting it to look like the Shout Ozzie & Harriet sets. my laptop is so old i can’t check the gb size on it. these discs do have the IFPL code mark on them so that’s the first time i’ve seen that on boots

Heres what the cases look like anyway

I got burned buying a Bootleg GREEN ACRES on EBAY XMAS 2019 - SHOUT acknowledged it was bootleg and this FKB looks like it too. SHOUTS lawyers should be aggressively taking EBAY to task!

But those pictures look just like the Walmart set I've seen at three different stores.

If I understand correctly, the DVD Profiler database is user built - what people have purchased and entered into the system. If you happen to purchase a disc that's not in the database it'll use your information to populate when the next purchaser flags it for their collection.
That's true.

Sad to see stacked discs in the photos. Was happy that Shout Factory had avoided poor case designs with their big complete series sets even upon reissue, but I guess the economic incentive to drive down the price point has made even them change. Will be going into a disc binder if I can track down a copy.

In my search for this, I made my first visit to electronics an hour ago at my local Wal-Mart since the pandemic hit but saw no sign of this release. At least there's still DVD's and Blu-Ray's, since I had heard some people's Wal-Mart's had all but killed that section of electronics off over the past year. Wasn't sure if my store was one of those affected or not.

I did see a sticker for a $65 Facts of Life set that was out of stock, so I'm wondering if this one has also been reissued in a similar format for Wal-Mart. Will pick that up as well if I ever see it, since even though a very mixed show, it had some hits in-between the many misses (Like my personal favorite, the 'Cruis'n' episode).

They don't looked stacked to me. I can see the hinges.

i did a follow up post further down the thread. i thought the exact same thing. however , after figuring out how to check gb disc size , this does look to be a real set . unless counterfeiters have started using dual layer discs. thats not to say that there aren’t counterfeits of this set out there, which there probably are , but i think getting it from inside the Wal Mart Store itself should be a good bet that its legit . i 1000% agree with you that Shout! should be applying more pressure on Ebay bc their complete tv series sets are probably the most counterfeited of any companies. They‘ve known about it for quite some time so i’m not sure what the hold up is. maybe the legal hassle isn’t worth it to them . hopefully someone else here knows that answer

You guys are right. I was looking at the small screen of a phone when I typed that, so that's my excuse. :)

At my desktop right now, it's quite evident that I was incorrect about the discs being stacked on a spindle.

After about a dozen trips to different Wal-Mart's in search of this since late summer, I still can't find a copy.

Anyone know of another retailer, hopefully online, that stocks this set for about the same price now? My search didn't yield any results online and it seems to have at least started out as a Wal-Mart exclusive, so I'm not holding my breath that it's made it out elsewhere.

This set seems to show up sporadically at Walmart. I haven't seen it at the Walmart I frequent in probably four or five months. I keep my eyes open for it, but I'm not fretting over them.

I just bought a set at my Walmart. There is one set left. I'll try to pick it up for you if you still want it, Leo.

Sure. :)

Thanks for the kind offer. If you see it again, I'd love it if you grabbed it since so far it's been a wild goose chase for me around here. I've not expended a lot of effort into the search, but have checked all of the stores around here at least twice since summer in the hope it would pop up and wasn't planning to continue looking locally.

If it's still there the next time you're there, I can do Paypal or send a money order or check in the mail if you'd prefer.

Leo, got the set for you but when I was scanning it I could hear a little plastic rattling around inside. If you still want it I can send it to you, if not I'll just return it.

Thanks! :)

If you think the discs are likely fine, I'm good with it. I was planning to keep them in their original case, but can always transplant them if need be to my disc binder. I've had to do that for those awful cases that CBS has been using for complete series reissues of recent years (I hate having to remove a disc to access another disc, so the discs now reside in a binder and the cases are just empty shelf ornaments now).

That's something I had to learn to deal with when I saw it for the first time on the all-in-one of The Streets of San Francisco (eventually, I got over the learning curve and figured out how to deal with it).

That is precisely what my wife and I've started doing with some of our DVD sets.

Father Knows Best article(2017) about the radio series from the Radio Spirts blog archive.

The season sets are great tv! Watched this series in reruns for decades. When the first season set was set to come out I had a contact at SHOUT I asked her if the set would be the unedited masters that Sony had and she told me the set had I think 14 episodes in the cut down syndicated prints and the rest in the full length original airing times. She then contacted SONY and from the second season to the sixth season SONY dug up the original uncut versions! One of the reasons stated for using the syndicated prints were they original aired episodes were in rough condition. Over the years I have hounded and pleaded with SHOUT to give us a single disc with the 14 episodes with the original aired versions with the disclaimer about their condition saying we are putting them out there so fans can collect the entire series uncut. The success of the series on dvd encouraged SHOUT going forward to locate original aired versions for other releases like Hazel and Dennis The Menace too.
