"Fatal Instinct" is coming to DVD on April 1st (I think) with a commentary by director Carl Reiner, deleted scenes, and outtakes. However, there's a catch. The film will be presented full frame only. What is MGM thinking? Don't they know that full frame is what make us HT entusiasts lose a sale. Now if we were given a choice of widescreen or full frame, there would be no big deal, but this one throws me off big time. Anybody else disappointed about this besides me?

I'm disappointed with this news. While not the best spoof in the world, this is certainly far from being the worst. I hope MGM reconsiders.

I also like Fatal Instinct (I used to watch it on Comedy Central) but I will not purchase the DVD since it will not be in OAR.

    MGM lost my sale.

    No OAR=No Sale

This is at least the third time that the aspect ratio of a Carl Reiner movie has been botched on DVD, the other two being The Jerk and The Man with Two Brains. Are we sensing a pattern here?

This is really suprising coming from MGM. They typically have both OAR and P&Sn on one disc. And to think I voted them as best studio of 2002.
[IMG] MGM. What happened to you?
