    A big concern about this announcement is that it is listed in "mono" but it was shot in 70mm with 6 track stereo sound. The laserdisc was in stereo. Why would it be in mono? Also the actual running time is 170 minutes. ( Its listed as 160min ) I hope Warner does not botch this beautiful film. Also what about Region 1?

    I agree, though for rather biased reasons. My uncle did a couple of lighting set-ups on this movie, uncredited. He was primarily an industrial promotions film maker, but he knew John Schlesinger and had a couple of days free. I shall definitely be getting this for sentimental reasons (even though to be honest I hate Thomas Hardy).
