I have opened tickets with them four different times over the years, and they only resolved my issue once -- and that was after several months and I had forgotten I had opened the issue (I wanted a refund for a film I purchased from them that wasn't in OAR, nor was its aspect ratio even listed). I had one issue that they "escalated" after bouncing me back and forth between Vudu and Walmart customer service several times, and that ticket stayed in an escalated status for over a year without any update before they just closed it without contacting me. That one I resolved myself by contacting my credit card company for a refund -- Vudu had sent me the incorrect disc from a disc + digital purchase, and neither Vudu nor Walmart knew how to correct the issue. I left the issue open to see if they would ever figure out how to fix the problem, but never heard from them again after the Vudu representative escalated the ticket.

In comparison, the 3 or 4 times I have contacted Apple regarding an issue, I have received a quick response and my issue was resolved within a few hours.

This is one of the main reasons I stopped buying from Vudu after I purchased an Apple TV 4K and had the ability to play content from iTunes (this was before the ATV app was available for Roku).

I had the same experience with VUDU, the customer service is severely lacking which really shouldn’t have been a surprise consider who the parent company was at the time. To date, they still have more movies streaming in the incorrect aspect ratio than the other services that I use.

After I purchased an Apple 4Ktv, I was reluctant to buy movies, due to my prior experience with VUDU, but when I-tunes had a bunch of 4K titles that I was interested in going for $4.99 per title, I took a chance and made a few purchases and have been hooked on the quality of the titles and the customer service, the one time that I did have an issue, it was handled immediately.

With MA most titles are shared between the various apps, but I use the Apple Movies app the most.

With so many Vudu-lovers on the forums here, I must say that my experiences with it are kind of bad. Generally I watch my 4K on iTunes with almost no problems. The few times I’ve had to use Vudu for 4K, the experience has not been good. Tonight (Sunday evening) I watched a 4K movie and had the movie stall out no less than eight times. My internet speed was 200-300 Mbps and other services worked just fine. Vudu is the culprit.

The problem is that Walmart was a neutral party when they owned Vudu and now that Fandango (NBC/Universal and Warner Brothers), own Vudu. Who is to say that Fandango will not favor NBC/Universal and Warner Brothers content over other studios? Who is to say that Fandango will not undercut other studios on certain titles selling or renting on Vudu? The only thing I really use Vudu and Movies Anywhere for is basically registering my digital codes. If I was into watching movies on my phone and since it is an android I guess I would be using the Vudu app for the phone since there seems to be no way to watch iTunes content on an android. But I just can not justify using up battery power to sit and watch something at work during lunch on such a small screen. Hopefully Vudu remains viable and doesn't end up shutting down if Fandango ends up in financial trouble costing people there content

How did they operate on FandangoNow? Granted, there is the difference that FN's interface is a hot mess, and Vudu is actually a larger and respectable platform in the market.

Or the Movies Anywhere app...

Disc + Digital has already gone away, but there were so many compalints, I'm not surprised. Just hope they keep Disc 2 Digtal around.
I used/loved Disc+Digital all the time with no issues. I also used Disc2Digital. Just put in a large order in case they get rid of it.

It's nice to have another option, but the FN app definitely needs some work.

No 4K, even though the iPhone app has it. I have titles like The Thin Man that I own in HD (even their app says that) but here only shows up in SD, and the alphabetizing is terrible. It list everything that starts with "The" under "T". That's maddening.

Other than that, the bones of a decent app are there, and I am happy to now have 5 services on my ATV I can access my digital collection from.

In addition to no 4K on the FandangoNow app on AppleTV, nearly everything is 2.0 stereo and no 24fps. Even on brand new releases! I managed to find a couple of Sony titles that played back in 5.1 and 24fps. But seriously, this app has a long way to go before I will be using it.

My own opinion is Comcast can simply hook up vudu and FandangoNOW +peacock to x1 and without target ticket going to cinema now I'm e expecting all my FandangoNOW content on Vudu and Vudu content on FandangoNOW no exceptions hopefully.

Comcast can leverage the dual storefronts on peacock and simply send everyone a welcome to xfinity email best case they create a mini movies Anywhere with our content purchases .

of course the ultimate best case scenario is that everything will be under the movies Anywhere all the content,PlayStation movies joins and tv shows are in but who knows how long it will take.

Not sure if it's due to the Fandango buyout but Vudu has been really stepping up their Sony UHD game lately. Just in the past couple of weeks Glory was updated. Now in the past week The Night Before, Close Encounters of the Third Kind(Director's cut & SE), Jerry Maguire, Taxi Driver & Dracula all have had UHD streams added.

Now the question is when/if your Vudu movies will transfer to FandangoNow.

Currently I have 1412 at Vudu and 1328 at FN

The Vudu Apple TV app just got updated and it's now a slightly different (and better) layout. Fandango is also listed under Terms of Service.
