I'm still waiting for Vudu to receive corrected versions from Sony of Across the Universe in 4K (missing HDR10 and Dolby Atmos), Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle in HDX (when DD+ 5.1 was added, they changed to a 16:9 full screen version), The Professional: Extended in 4K (was HDX although they claimed I owned 4K, now won't even play on the new UI on Roku), and the HDX version of Underworld (Theatrical) which is still 16:9 full screen.

And now, for some reason, Sony sent them Uncharted in 4K with only DD+ 5.1 and not Atmos.

Me neither. The old UI made accessing your collection the primary purpose. The new UI emphasizes the storefront, with your library almost as an afterthought.

I'm not interested in making purchases through my TV. But I want my collection to be easily accessible through my TV.

Maybe I'm missing something (or simply haven't used Vudu much in quite some time, if ever, especially on my ATV4K), but I feel somewhat ambivalent to the changes for the most part.

I do actually sorta prefer some of the changes since they generally decluttered the UI and made each program/movie's individual page simpler and more intuitive compared to before. They also seem to conform the ATV app (and maybe also Roku app) to the regular web UI and Windoze app so they all look/work/navigate essentially the same, which is probably a good thing (at least in the long run, if not in this exact instance/version) -- no idea about MacOS and others though. Yeah, it now looks much more spartan/basic (w/ generally smaller thumbnails, etc) than before, but I never liked the old, cluttered (and somewhat counter-intuitive) UI of the individual program/movie pages that much.

I don't really feel like my own library is noticeably harder to access than before. What am I missing?

Vudu used to be the go-to PVOD retailer for those who didn't have an Apple TV 4K device. With the Apple TV app now available on non-Apple devices, and all of the recent issues with Vudu, the company has lost their competitive edge.

IMO, both streaming services are having issues.
