There's a news item(along with cover art)over at tvshowsondvd.comsaying that Family Ties Season 4 will be released on August 5.It's good that Paramount are releasing this season a bit quicker, and we don't have to wait until October.I can't help but wonder, though, that given Paramount's cheapness with clearing music, will At This Moment be included,or will it be cut out? That song was crucial to the episode it was in,so let's hope Paramount realizes that and leaves it in.Won't surprise me,in the least,if it's not.

I was wondering the same thing about "At This Moment" when I saw the announcement.

I know that music on tv shows are a dime a dozen, but Family Ties singlehandedly made "At This Moment" a #1 hit upon rerelease in 1986. So I hope that Billy Vera's songholders cut Paramount a bargain because the song became a smash hit due to it's exposure on this series.

Also glad that we're now halfway through the series. The first five seasons were the best IMO. I also hope they can clear "Light My Fire" for season five.

They may not even ask.

Furthermore, we don't know whether "Family Ties Vacation" is included, or in what form it will be in.

looks like Family Ties Vacation is on there

Now if only someone could clarify with Paramount if "At This Moment" is on the disc or not

I have the network broadcast of Family Ties Vacation in Beta. If anything is missing you'll hear it from me.

it's nice to see one 80's sitcom fave that isn't played ad nauseum in reruns that is actually at the halfway point on DVD a mere 18 months after the release of season 1. Compare this to all the 227's, Gimme A Break's and Facts Of Life's that will likely never be finished and fans have ended up going on the black market to acquire episodes.

Good work Paramount with this show

I have this faint memory of a scene with Mrs. Keaton trying to look casually behind her and she bends backwards to do it. It was not in the syndicated version I have on tape. Am I making this scene up? If anyone can confirm its existence, as well as its existence on the DVD set, I would be very grateful. Happy to hear that the movie does seem to be the original version and that At This Moment is intact.

Save yourself a click:

"You will also be pleased to hear that "At This Moment" by Billy Vera and the Beaters can be heard about 5 different times in 'The Real Thing (Parts 1 and 2)'."

All studios are bad at this. Sony, Universal, Fox, WB; They all suck where logos are concerned. There is no reason why they can't put the new, sterile, CGI logos AFTER the original ones.

I have season 1-5 on dvd. I was hoping that we would be hearing something about 6th season, since March 2009 was when season #5 came out.

Don't hold your breath, Paul. I've been saying for quite some time that this one is off the schedule, and that's still true as far as I know.

Gary "sorry to be the bearer of bad news" O.
