I see Amazon has Family Guy: Volume 3 set for Nov. 29th release! [IMG]

although they do say it's from 1999, so let's hope that's a typo.

Wasn't season 3 already released as "Volume 2" though? This might just be a price reduction.

ACK! I screwed up. It's VOLUME 3 (which would be Season 4?). I'll have to edit my post and ask an admin to change the title.

    Plus it's only 1/2 a season...

    They are splitting it up.

From what I understand, VOL. 3 will actually only contain the first thirteen episodes of Season 4. Fox is apparently (thinly) spreading the episodes over four DVDs to help justify the steep $39.98 price tag. If true, they're really milking this franchise for all it's worth. Just like the $29.98 three-episode "movie" released today.

Did I buy it? You betcha.[IMG]

Given that the series was only resurrected due to its popularity on DVD, Fox certainly know how to screw over loyal fans.

Fox has previously released 13-episode sets at $39.98 tags -- the first seasons of "Futurama" and "King of the Hill," for example.

Also, while Fox is counting this whole run of episodes as one season, it's purely arbitrary. They ordered a cycle of 35 episodes, they have shown 13, and will be showing another 22 starting in November. So they could just as easily have called it two separate seasons: a summer season and a fall-winter-spring season. Releasing the first 13 as a separate season makes perfect sense, really.

Are the Stewie "Movie" episodes included in the list for season 4 episodes, and should be expected to be included in a S4 release, or was that just something extra to make us buy more stuff?

The three episodes that make up the movie will be broadcast later, and included on a future season set (volume 5, presumably).
