I don't really consider season 1 the same series as 2-9 so I wasn't too hurt by it. There are some moments I enjoy in season 1 but to me the series was stillborn until Jo came along. Similar to how Roseanne season 1 being edited didn't feel like a kick in the gut despite it being one of my fave series because season 1 wasn't quite yet the show as I love it. But Mama's Family (which peaked in the NBC seasons IMO) hurt like hell.
