You know, I love it when this happens:
My wife and I were watching a biography of Nic Cage last night and she asked "Have we got Face/Off on DVD?"
Reading between the lines, that's what's called authorisation to buy another disc!
Thanks in advance for your input, guys.

Never mind, folks. Had an itchy mouse finger and couldn't resist clicking "add to cart"...

Face/Off DVD is one of the best Dolby Digital 5.1 on DVD I've heard.

You should be pleased. Pretty good transfer, awful layer change, but as said above, the 5.1 is impressive, especially in it's presentation of John Powell's score.

I was very pleased with the transfer on this one. And, as others have mentioned it also has a great soundtrack. The movie itself is also great!

The 5.1 track is indeed impressive. The video quality itself is good, except for some heavy edge enhancement.

And, yes, we would like a special edition of this fine film in the not-too-distant future....

Ah, for some reason I thought this was a flipper. Think I'll have to pick this one up.

Ditto on the layer change. This was one of the first DVD's I bought, and since I knew nothing about layer changes, I thought the disc was defective ands exchanged it. Knowing what I know now would have saved lots of aggravation..

The early Disney UK R2 is a flipper, and is missing the butterfly knife twirling bits.

My parents bought this disc for me when I first got my player three years ago. The transfer is indeed first-rate and the 5.1 track is simply awesome. However, the DVD defaults to the 2.0 track, so be sure to go to the setup menu and select 5.1. (As I recall the disc doesn't allow for audio switching "on the fly".)
Bottom line: If you like this movie, pick up the disc. It's definitely worth it, IMHO.
