Using the external analog in on the 3802 for 5.1. Is there anyway to use the rear surrounds for 7.1? I cant seem to find a way to do this like with DD or DTS. Is it possible?

My experience with the 3801 has been that the only way to get the rear channels from DD or DTS is to have the receiver decode the signal from a digital source. I think (but I may be wrong) that the 7.1 inputs just go through to the volume and tone controls and then on to the power amps -- I even doubt that they even can have any delays or bass management.

If you wish to use the 7.1 inputs to get the rear channels to work, you will probably need to extract the rear signals before they enter the 3802.
