Bottom line: Would you guys suggest buying a 3-yr extended warranty for $300. How often do TVs break? How much would it cost to fix the things that typically break?

Also, what do you guys think of buying 4:3 HDTVs as opposed to 16:9 TVs? I watch more 4:3 television right now than movies, but I'm concerned about future proofing.

Thanks!

I would buy a 16:9 any day if it wasn;t for the price. In the short term may not be that practical, but it more futur proof. Also, I would care about streching regular tv programing to fit th 16:9 screen, but there is no way I would strectch a DVD to fit a 4:3 screen. This is just about taste.
