I don't know if I can quote the news about the DVDs, since it's on the pay side of starwars.com. Bottom line: the Ewoks TV movies, Droids, and Ewoks will all be coming to DVD this November and December.

I seem to recall enjoying the Droids show as a kid... Now I can find out just how stupid I was back then!

Hey I just came accross this press release from... 2001??

    http://www.lucasfan.com/ewdr/pressrelease.html

Whatever happened with that, I guess it never came to fruition?

Will these new releases be a similar box-set as seen above in the now defunct press statement or will they be released individually?

That was a joke I did based on LukeB's Paramount press release for the Nickelodeon movies. The cover cases are in fact from The Godfather.

It was a joke that fooled Eric Walker and Warwick Davis, stars of the Ewok movies. Davis even called Lucasfilm to ask about it. It was good for a few laughs.

I thought it was pretty obvious that it was a joke, but apparently it fooled a lot of people so I later put the disclaimer at the end.

hahah I thought those discs looked a little off... and noticed the GF resemblance in the packaging too. It would've been cool though.

Thanks Gord for posting this great news on tvsondvd.com!! [IMG]
This plus the trilogy dvd release, and the "Revenge" annoucement are the biggest news stories this year!
These two shows are so great! I'm so excited!!
Clone Wars is good but I'll leave it to the power puff generation. [IMG]
I just don't like the cartoon network style of animation.

Can't wait for the Ewok cartoons and TV movies.

Still remember the theme song- "We are the E-E-E-E-Ewoks, and we're one big happy family".

I think thats how part of it goes.

Only liked the Ewok cartoon, never cared for the Droids cartoon. Just something about the animation style turned me off.

In related news, the question that is most asked of the development team for the upcoming computer game, Star Wars: Battlefield, is "Can players shoot the Ewoks?"

    The answer is YES. [IMG]

Droids and Ewoks have been announced for Nov. 23. The live action Ewok movies are coming the same day. MSRP is only $15 for Droids and the Ewok movies. Unclear whether it is the same for the Ewok animated series.

Are these definitely going to be the complete series, or is that still uncertain?

    Thanks,

According to The Digital Bits (which also has cover art up), the Ewoks and Droids sets will each include select episodes combined into two feature films. A real shame, as I was hoping to see complete series sets.

I may not get the animated ones. A few years ago, they released two tapes of animated episodes combined into movies and they were horrible.

I'll get the Ewok movies, but I'm debating about the cartoons.

Not only the incomplete TV series, but edited as well. They are simply reissuing the episodes that were grouped together and released on VHS a few years back.
They could have simply released two nice sets of the complete series. There are only 13 Droids episodes (plus a 1-hour special) and 26 Ewoks episodes.
I'm not surprised by the low MSRPs. After all, Star Wars merchandise has become synonymous with bargain bins since 1999. I would have preferred a higher MSRP and some bonus features, especially for the Ewok movies.
Oh well... can't say I expected much more. At least we're getting the Ewok movies - presumably complete and unedited.
