Exactly.
I am not getting away from MS for the same reason I bought a Dell this year rather than building my ownlike I used to: I can only go in depth in so many things. I simply cannot make a hobby out of this computer business anymore, there are many other things that require my attention, like film.
I dabbled in Linux in college, it was fun, but it was too much work. I simply cannot be bothered with things like having to load some driver just to be able to cut and paste. I am sure it has come a long way since, but still. This from an engineer.
I am sure people who love cars wonder eveyday why J6Ps like us keep buying automatic transmissions while manuals are so much better. Or why we pay X amount of cash for stuff we could easily do ourselves for far less. Well, I only have so much time and energy to spend in one day, and I chose to spend it doing something else
