Watching Grease in 2.35:1 reveals quite a bit more of Eugene!

The most startling revelation for me was watching Return of the Jedi, letterboxed on LD, about 10 years ago. The speeder bike race was *much* more intense. I had grown used to the pan 'n scanning on cable and VHS, which crops out all the speed blur on the extreme left and right edges of the frame during that sequence.

Ah, the beauty of HTF! One reason this is amongst the best places to hang out on the 'net.

(OT: in another thread -- "DVD forum cliches" IIRC -- it was asked why some HTF members seem to spend more time in After Hours than in HT-related sections, when there are lots of general-discussion forums out there. IMHO, this is why: quality of the membership and the civil nature of the forum.)
