Huffyuv is lossless compression, i.e. no data is lost, kinda like zip file compression. However, your DV codec is lossy compression, with the data already gone. So converting back to Huffyuv is pretty pointless, but it is good to use during editing. If you were to convert from your DV codec to true uncompressed AVi, your file size would increase dramatically.

Last time i was messing with video editing, i used Huffyuv as my intermediate codec while doing all the video enhancements and such, and then converted the avi to MPEG-2 at the final stage.
