1. Kids - B+ (Not sure if I'd feel the same way now, but at the time I saw it I thought it packed a huge punch and was a sad observation of tragic situations)

2. Bully - F (Hated this, which felt like a Jerry Springer episode turned into a film. Also has the most distasteful DVD extra I've come across, mug shots of the real people the film is about)

I'm not exactly a Larry Clark fan, but I do find him interesting, if a bit one dimensional. I will always be baffled how critics will slam Clark but praise something like Irreversible as some work of art.

Ken Park (2002) :star::star::star: - Basically a redo of or sequal to Kids, but with unknown actors who, in this case, would remain unknown. Also, it amuses me that this was co-directed by Edward Lachman, who shot Far from Heaven. I own the DVD, which is Russian, of all things.
Teenage Caveman (2002) (TV)
Bully (2001) :star::star::star: - Essentially Kids or Ken Park, except in this case, based on real events and has more of a conventional narrative. I suspect that makes it offensive to some people. I own the DVD.
Another Day in Paradise (1998)
Kids (1995) :star::star::star:1/2 - Probably the best of the three I have seen, simply because it was the first and brought us a couple admirable actresses. I own the DVD


It is a testament to the hypocrisy of places like Blockbuster Video that they refuse to carry the uncut versions of films like Bad Education but virtually every one of them has Bully and Kids on the shelves.

George should make a point of seeing every one of these films.
