Where the Truth Lies looks positively Lynchian. Can't wait!

Link to a Cannes clip from Where the Truth Lies.

Warning: clip contains (modest) nudity from Alison Lohman. Not gonna look now, are you? :D

Atgom Egoyan is the 18th director in this series that I've seen/met in person.
WARNING: He is a seat-kicker and will talk throughout the movie if he has a friend with him.
You have been warned!!

Did you give him the half-turn and/or the full-turn with eyebrow raise?

1. The Sweet Hereafter - A (another of the best films of the 90's, made me a lifelong Sarah Polley fan)
2. Exotica - A-
3. Felicia's Journey - B- (This is the only Egoyan film I've seen in the theater. Coming off of Sweet Hereafter I also found this gravely disappointing. Not a bad film, I just distinctly remember how excited I was beforehand and how low I felt when I saw this wasn't anywhere on the level of SH)
4. Chloe - C+

5. Ararat - C

Own: 1

Would like to see some more of his early work. I don't know what episodes he directed, but I LOVED the incredibly inappropriately named Friday the 13th: The Series.

Where the Truth Lies (2005) - Do I have to mention that I am so there if and when this comes available? I won't bother to say why.
Ararat (2002) - Have it, will watch it eventually, but I don't think it measures up to the few others I have seen.

The Sweet Hereafter (1997) - 9/10

I have kind of an odd story about this. On Xmas Eve 1995, my sister died. Her presents to me that year were the books The Sweet Hereafter and Felicia's Journey... both of which ended up being directed by Egoyan. It was like they had some kind of psychic connection.

Okay, maybe it's not a mind-blowing story, but it was a strange coincidence.
