I recently replaced my region-free Apex with a region-free Momitsu (DVI!) player and realized I haven't been taking advantage of the capability.

    I'm looking for DVDs that:
    (a) should be available in R1, but aren't. E.g., Ed Wood.
    (b) are the best possible transfer (anamorphic/OAR, look good). It's unlikely a superior R1 version would be released.
    (c) of course, they need to be great films. E.g., Kurosawa.

Any websites I should go to? Any threads to look at?
I've been looking at -- great stuff.

Sorry if this has been discussed before (I searched "essential" & looked through recent threads). I warned you this was a newbie Q in the title!

Well, if it's Kurosawa you're after then Kagemusha is available on region 2 in a nice 16x9 edition. It's pretty low on extras though ( ie. none ). Good film, even if it's not one of his best.
