to those playing the PS2 version I found this fix to save and load your team strategies properly (courtesy of Thunderpuck forums)
much more complicated than last year but it works

SAVING STRATEGIES

Note that these should be done right after turning the PS2 on. I went into Franchise and came out and they didn't work.

1. Select Game Mode EXHIBITION. NOT QUICK GAME!!! Has to be EXHIBITION.

2. Select a team on the team select screen and press R2. This will take you into the strategy screen.

3. Change your strategies.

4. Press START to take you to the SAVE/LOAD screen.

5. Select SAVE STRATEGIES.

6. Select CREATE NEW FILE. IMPORTANT The default name for the file shoud be STRATEG1 NOT SETTING1 if it comes up SETTING1 reset your PS2 and try again.

7. Rename your file whatever you want and save it.

LOADING STRATEGIES

This works in any game mode not just EXHIBITION.

1. Select your team on the team select screen (does not have to be the same team that you set your strategies for).

2. Press R2 to go into the STRATEGIES SCREEN.

3. Press START (I know it says save, but press it anyways) this takes you to the SAVE/LOAD screen.

4. Select LOAD.

5. Select your STRATEGY type file from the list and load it.
