Umm, dude.... those are "20th Century MASTERS" not REMASTERS. They're cheapo compilations. If you want a good Eric B & Rakim disc, get the "Platinum Edition" of Paid in Full.

Point noted. But then why does the tears for fears sound so damn good compared to many other Cd's I own? Must have been a coincidence and the original CD must be great too and this fueled my belief in these 20th century masters discs. But oh well then my bad I should have looked more closely.

I have the Paid in Full Platinum Edition and think its great other than the second "bonus" disc being a waste. Maybe its good for DJ's but thats about it.

There are still some copies of Rakim's first solo album around that come with a second disc (titled Book Of Life) of Eric B. and Rakim's greatest hits. LINK That was a pretty good compilation.

Here is a review of the 20th Century Masters:

I couldn't disagree more. The remixes are consistently compelling, and the "Seven Minutes of Madness" remix of "Paid in Full" is a true classic.
