    I am thinking about taking the region-free leap, but haven't convinced myself (or my wife) that I need a region-free player.

    My wife is into horses big time, and if I could find some good equestrian DVDs that were only available in other regions it might push us over the cliff.

    I've been searching various sites and engines, but haven't found anything that looks promising.

    Anybody have any info that might be helpful?

    Thanks.

    ...well... I may have just the thing for your wife:
    - the French mk2 label has released a box set of two movies by Bartabas, both featuring lots and lots of beautiful horses:
    * Mazeppa (1993) ( Capsule review )
    (DVD-9 / All Regions / 111 minutes / AR = 1.78:1 letterbox / Language: French DD 5.1 / optional English Menu screens & subtitles)
    * Chamane (1996)
    (DVD-9 / Regions 1,2,3,4,6 / PAL / 90 minutes / AR = 1.78:1 anamorphic / Language: optional Russian(=original) or French(=dubbed) DD 5.1 / optional French and English Menu screens
    & subtitles
    )
    ...enjoy!...

    Hendrik,

    Thanks for the info. This is a good start. I went on vacation shortly after starting this thread, then forgot to follow up on it.
