I would say this is excellent news for those of us awaiting affordable 4K laser projectors. This one isn't there yet but does include the "laser" part and is offered at an incredible price point.

Good points, John. I should have mentioned in this article that the EF-100 only carries a WXGA (1280 x 800) resolution. It means you can only play 720p content natively, but Epson calls it '1080p-ready'. It also means that pixels are clearly visible from almost any viewing distance/image size.
