I can't believe it! My Epson 7250 can't pick up progressive scan signals? This is what one tech support said:
Thank you for taking the time to contact Epson. It is my pleasure to
    respond to your inquiry.

I regret you have had any inconveniences with the projector. Your issue
should be resolved by attempting the following:

    1. In the settings menu change Comp2/YCbCR Input to YPbPr (for progressive
    scan DVD or HDTV images.

Unfortunately there is no other suggestions that we can provide. To
clarify, the projector does not have aYPbPr setting, since it is not a true
HDTV projector with DVI slots. The projector resamples the HDTV signal
automatically through the component signal, whether the signal is 480i(p) /
    720p / 1080i(p).

And yet another tech support person said I need a 5 cable to 3 cable adapter (component to RGB) and then progressive scan will work.

I don't know who is more confused, me or the tech staff at Epson!

Can anyone help me? I just want to watch my progressive scan DVD player on the projector with the best picture possible.

    Thanks!

HDTV is intimidating, this stuff is going to drive consumers crazy and delay the adoption of the technology by the masses.

Do they have all these issues in Japan? Arn't they supposed to be way ahead on HDTV????

Sorry I had no input on your question, but posts like this intimidate me on my planned upgrade to the technology, I must admit, those that know me, consider me the "pro" on HT.....
