    Hey People!
Just a quick question. Is it even worth it to buy the Avia Guide to Home Theater and sound meter to calibrate an Onkyo HTS650? It's a HTIB which after reading all the posts here, I realize was not the greatest of purchases. Too late now. Maybe I could give it to my son and start out fresh and buy piece by piece.
    Thanks for all the help

I think it would still be worth your while to get an SPL meter and calibration Disc. You may want to go with the Sound and Vision Disc. It's by the same makers as Avia and costs about $10 or so less.

The SPL meter is *essential* to setting your levels correctly, so I would get the RS meter even if you can't get the disc right now to use with the test tones.

Even if you decide to upgrade you will still need these items to calibrate your system.
