Okay I just picked up me new reciever from A&B sound, and the saleman said he would defienetly get these energy c-1 bookshelves as my front and back speakers before I consider getting the athena as-f1 as my front speakers. Anyone have any ideas about these are they good as front and backs? Also I will be getting the JBL pb-10 sub, and the corresponding energy center channel

I have the C-1's as main with the C-C1 center. I think they sound and look great! Listen to them for yourself to see if you like them.

Yeah i think they would be good as fronts and rears. Set them to small on your receiver.

Since the C-1's only have useable bass to around 50Hz or so, you want to set them as small and set your crossover to about 80Hz, allowing for all bass below 80Hz to go to your Subwoofer. In most cases, unless your mains have powered subs in them or something, you set the speakers to small.
