I haven't seen this broadcast in years. Perhaps it has been in other markets, but not mine. I would put this right up with A Christmas Story as a Christmas must-see.

By strange coincidence, it ran today on YTV. I thought it was very charming when it first came out, and bought the VHS tape a few years ago

You've got to love those movies that played endlessly on HBO in the 80's. Definitely a Christmas classic.

    Man I miss Jim Henson.

This show was a staple of my childhood every Christmas...how I loved it so. I last saw it on tv about 3 years ago and actually welled up with tears a little because seeing it again just plunged me headlong into childhood memories and a time when I was innocent, before the cynicism of adulthood set in.
It makes me sad even now if I think about that too hard. [IMG]
The show stopping number for me was when the 'River Bottom Nightmare Band' played at the talent show, they rocked! [IMG]

I never remember seeing this when it first broadcast, but I picked up the DVD last season for two reasons:

    a) it was a Jim Henson Muppet title in OAR, and far more importantly:

    b) it was the first DVD my wife Deanna BEGGED me to buy. Turns out she loved the show as a child. Anything to please the wife... so that is aproximately 490 DVD that are "ours", and one that is hers.

    BTW, loved the show.
