Wow! Not only some clever bait and switch tactics in last night's episode #8 but also a BIG revelation that took me completely by surprise (if true and not just another scheme). This show is going out in a big way!

My wife and I rewatched the relevant season 4 episode a couple hours before this aired last night. Enjoyed both thoroughly.

Which episode is that. My wife is out of town and won’t watch until she’s back, but I can watch that episode from 4, depending on where it is.

We watched the season 4 episode and this most recent episode. So,
Have they introduced a new recurring character? Does Sherlock really have a daughter? Are they trying to get an uptick in the ratings and a renewal? Or is Sherlock’s possible daughter going to star in a spinoff series?
Just spoutin’ Off. I’ve got no facts to support my ideas.

No, the series is over and done with at the end of this current season, so ratings are of no interest to its producers now. Whatever narrative surprises they come up with are simply to add to what has already gone before and what is coming up in the few remaining episodes.

He meant, if you watched "Person of Interest" his character was similar to someone called Finch.

Maybe it’s me but this season has been pretty dullville

I haven't found it dull at all, but then, I never have. It's been my favorite TV show for all seven seasons it's been on, even in the seasons where some of the story arc choices weren't my favorites.

I've fallen way behind on my series watching as I have 4 episodes on my DVR.

I don’t find it dull, but I don’t think it’s their best either.

It was a better show when Sherlock was operating at a higher level of investigative brilliance than everyone else - making Joan a fellow detective was not a good decision.

Same here. I watched the last two episodes this morning and think the show is on par for most of the prior seasons.

My wife has recently been saying "this episode drags a little," but I'm happy with them. "Reliably entertaining" is the mantra here.

Definitely digging the fun the writers / staff are having referencing the original Conan Doyle works, from "The Devil's Foot" this past episode through the titles for the last two episodes of the series.

I'm certain it's been mentioned elsewhere, but just in case - I'm in for the DVD release of this final season come September 17th. No need of the "complete" box to be released same day.

Yes, I've already requested to CBS to send a copy for review. I've reviewed all the other seasons, and it'd be great to analyze it one last time.

Last night's show gave me ominous vibes about 20 minutes in... and I'm not one who tries to anticipate the plot, but just lets the show roll.

    = = =

Now an additional irritation: our local affiliate (and perhaps Buffalo NY as well as Rochester) will be dumping next week's episode in favor of pre-season football.

One case where we're thankful for free CBS streaming of this show; we'll catch it the next day.

I was pretty surprised by the developments. I had expected that might be the outcome in the series finale, a price to be paid for the stoppage of this fiend, but we still have a couple of more episodes to go.

It seems to me that this season has had an unusually high number of minutes devoted to exposition. “We figured you did it by...Yada yada yada.” Also this villain seems more like an omnipotent super villain than what we usually find in Elementary.
