In the new issue, there is a pretty interesting article "How Bad Games Get Made" I was just wondering if anyone knew which game/publisher the article is referring to, as it was written under the condition of anonymity.

Britney's Dance Beat...actually I have no idea, but I hear that game is pretty bad.

Haven't read it yet, GaryP, but once I have, I'll give it a guess. Are there any subtle clues?

It's really generic. It could be any one of a zillion games. An interesting read though. Here are the best clues:
    • N64 game
    • Based on a dumb movie license that no one wanted
    • The developers were working on a Saturn game, and the company was ready to fold
    • The developer is now out of business
    • The publisher has been on the verge of shutting down for years
    • During the inital stages of development, the lead designer got divorced & subsequently left the project

Does it say the game was actually published? If it's a third party movie licence for the N64, that should be really easy to narrow down.

In fact, here's a list of all US released N64 games:

Mmmmm, these are the movie licences that jump out from the list - did I miss any?
    Blues Brothers 2000
    Batman Beyond
    A Bug's Life
    Toy Story 2
    Goldeneye [IMG]
    Indy Jones
    Power Rangers
    Various Star Wars games
    Superman
    World Is Not Enough

Of those, Blues Brothers 2000 would seem to be the obvious choice, but Titus Interactive is still alive and kicking, is it not? At least, their site is still up and lists some PS2 titles...

I think it's Superman, that was the worst game ever for the 64'.

Superman wouldn't be considered a "dumb" license that no one wants though. Blues Brothers is probably a good guess. I can't imagine why anyone would want that license...
And I think its safe to cross Goldeneye off the list. [IMG]

Superman was the first N64 game that came to mind when i heard "EGM, horrible game, N64". it had a record low score i think (until MK for GBA)

Xena comes to mind, although that was a TV-based game.

My guess is Blues Brothers, since he says it was based off a liscence that was a current box office dud. But Blues Brothers 2000 the game was a rental only title at first.

After reading the article I would put my money on either Power Rangers or the Blues Brothers game. They are the only ones that make sense.

I don't know if I'd call Power Rangers a dumb movie license that nobody wanted though(at least from a financial standpoint), so Blues Brothers 2000 seems the most likely.
