    JUst saw this was announced.
But for the usual Woody Allen Bare Bones DVD's it's priced at $32.99
I haven't seen it, but want to buy it, since I'm a Woody fan.
Hopefully BB will have it on sale.
Anybody know why Dreamworks priced it so high?

Yeah, this took me by surprise as well.
I'm guessing they figure they'll sell this disc to Allen's core fans (of which I am one) and not to anyone else. Therefore, they're jacking the price a few bucks to increase revenues from a small but captive audience. This is just speculation, but it makes sense to me.

I don't recall the sales of Small Time Crooks doing big numbers for Dreamworks, and I remember a LOT of copies were in the big stores here, never moving anywhere.
They did a wonderful job on the STC disc and if they do the same for Jade, I don't mind the extra few bucks.
That said, you should be able to find it for relatively cheap at B&M stores. I don't think I've ever paid the Suggested Retail Price for anything. [IMG]
John, how many titles of the Woodster do you have?

Great, sounds like they're doing a Di$ney. Right when Fox wises up and ditches the $35 discs, these guys decide to keep messing it up. This is WAAAY too close to laserdisc pricing!

    Hi Jason,
What is the difference between the Crimes and Misdemeanors editions? Are there special features on the OOP copy?
    Thanks,
    ~Bob

    Bob,
    Sorry for the late reply.
The IMAGE version is just a rehash of the laserdisc transfer, non anamorphic and a chapter listings card as the menu. 1.0 mono track is pretty nice though. It went OOP because MGM bought all of Orion's catalog. And to think I bought this disc for about $40 import, when I can have the MGM version for about $15 cost today.
The MGM version is the one to go for: anamorphic, 2.0 mono, a nice little booklet and a trailer. That's all I ask from "Sorry, no extras" Mr. Allen.
    Jason

Best Buy had it today for $24.99. I love Woody Allen but a bare bones dvd for $24.99?? No thanks Universal. I read that they will be increasing their prices on new titles the same way they do it for vhs. In a few years I bet that a new release will cost over $80.00. Just wait and see.

I had it in my hand, but put it back. I'll wait for the inevitable re-pricing on this one.
