Hey folks,

I've really been looking forward to this one. TVShowsOnDVD has the first review up:

http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/siterevi...ReleaseID=3921

It seems the release notes are correct -- it's shown in 4:3. Dunno if FOX filmed it 16:9 and matted the video for this release, or if it's filmed 4:3 and matted to 16:9 for HD broadcast.

Does anyone have an episode in widescreen and compare it to what's on the DVD? I'm curious...Thanks!

Remember, though, the first half of the episodes were completed in the fall before they aired. Would all of Fox's shows still have been produced in widescreen at that point?

I just find it unusual that they'd present the show in 4:3 if 16:9 gives a larger picture. Since this show had two different OARs (4:3 for regular broadcast, 16:9 for HD), you'd think Fox would use the aspect ratio yielding the most image.

Are you sure there's no way that these were produced in 4:3 and matted for widescreen? Anybody ever done a side-by-side comparison of a widescreen and fullscreen copy of an episode?

I wrote that the show was broadcast in 1.33:1, but later changed it when someone emailed me about it. I did a search and found an article that mentioned "Greg the Bunny" was shot using Sony HD cameras. I believe it was probably HD all the way, so the 16:9 versions were true widescreen.

All for Fox's shows have been shot widescreen since 1997 or so and been finished for widescreen since about 2000, so well before Greg the Bunny started.

Yee-Ming, there's a link to Gord's review a few posts up.

My copy arrived earlier this week, and last night I plowed through the all episodes & commentary on disc 1. I'm very happy with it so far--the commentaries are funny and informative, and the show is as much fun as I remember it being.

I bought the dvd and loved it! The only thing I didn't like was when Warren was doing that play and the cross fell. That annoyed and pissed me off. Other than that I loved this dvd.I couldn't stop laughing when Warren choked the little girl.

BTW although I did see some easter eggs, I never saw the puppet porn thing and the Alf thing.Anybody find them?
