There are quite a few of us that have
been politely asking Paramount to release
the most outstanding standup video of all
    time, Delirious.
The last thing I heard from Martin over
at Paramount was that he was unsure if the
    title still belonged to Paramount.
I hate to ask Martin to spend his time tracking
down the ownership, but at the same time, I would
hope the studio would be actively pursuing its
    release.
So, I want to leave this in the hands of our
membership who always find ways of tracking
    down information.
Can someone find out WHO owns the rights to
    this standup video.
After we find out WHO owns the rights, we can
start putting pressure on that studio or individual.
    Thanks

I second the motion, Ron - LDs of "Raw" and "Delirious" are fetching a good amount of money at Ebay. If that isn't an indication of how pupular these still are, I don't know what is.

I have an, uh, um, friend who uses one of those evil file sharing programs... and he as an MP3 copy of Delirious on his computer-- and it gets downloaded like 30-40 times a day. No lie.

Couple that with the fact that the LD fetches good money on Ebay -- hell the VHS is selling for $40-50!!!

Someone has got to figure there is demand for this title!

Since it originally aired on HBO, they may have the rights to "Delirious". The material on the special can also be found on Eddie Murphys comedy album "Eddie Murphy: Comedian."

Man, I would LOVE to have DELIRIOUS on DVD!
Eddie Murphy was at his prime.
I would hope that when and if it got released to DVD that it would be an un-altered verison...we all know that most of the material isn't "PC" by todays standards.
I wouldn't accept an altered/edited version of DELIRIOUS, NO WAY!

I'm sure others have figured this out, but it looks like all of the albums were released by Columbia, which is now a part of Sony. Is it possible that they may have the rights to the Videos as well?

    Kraig is onto it.
From my research, Delirious was a filmed document of Eddie's Grammy Award winning album Eddie Murphy - Comedian. According to the Library of Congress, CBS (Columbia, Sony) is the claimant on that sound recording copyright.
And interesting enough, I couldn't find ANY info on the film at www.loc.gov

No solid info to add as to which company owns this...

But I would buy it in a heartbeat if it were available.

Maybe, the best way to find out is to go to the source. Eddie Murphy. I can get his agents number. But, I will also see if I can get his manager or publicist, if he has one. This worked for when I was trying to find out who owned "Final Countdown". I contacted Michael Douglas' production company, Bryna. They were the producers of the movie. They were the ones who told me that Pacfic Family Entertainment had the rights. Let's hope we can get better results that we have with Final Countdown. [IMG]

Oh yeah. I'm all for DELIRIOUS. It's one of the best!
"I love STAR TREK. You've gotta be real horny to want to f*** a green b***h!"
Now if whoever has the rights to ROBIN WILLIAMS: LIVE AT THE MET (this IS the funniest live concert I have ever witnessed!!!) could release this then I would be ecstatic! Make it so.[IMG]
