Terrific episode. Ed's been reading a book on lucid dreams, and spend the entire show in a dream where he's having fun, then trying to figure out which girl he'd rather be with, Carolyn or Frankie.

    Lots of fun!

holy COW. that was one of the best, funniest, sweetest episodes of TV I've seen in years. I could go back through my TiVO and write down all the great gags but there are just too many.

The "lucid dreaming" episode was simply an outstanding hour of TV - one of the 2 or 3 best "Ed"s ever. This show is on some kind of roll right now.

    So many great bits:
    • "It was a meta-joke." "You're a meta-dork."
    • The pseudo-"West Wing" music that accompanied President Phil.
    • Mike. Everything he did & said. Hilarious.
    • Taye Diggs trying to get out of the dream. "You want Denzel??"
    • Eli's Ed-induced fake jive.
    • Carol in the black dress. Yowza!
    • Ed incorporating the music playing on his clock radio (Hall & Oates) into the end of his dream (this happens to me ALL the time).
    • "You're fired." Kiss. "You're rehired." "I quit." Kiss. "Can I have my job back?"
This one's staying on the TiVo for awhile! [IMG]

Count me in the "it was a great episode" bandwagon. In fact, I wouldn't mind if the show took more chances like this, as a way of exercising creative muscles and keeping the show fresh. If only Buffy hadn't already done a musical episode, I'd love to see one of Ed.

Ed and Frankie certainly seem perfect for each other. However, Carol in that black dress certainly gives one pause!

Odd how Carol almost had the same role as Mike - prodding Ed's thoughts and asking him questions, rather than being the focus of his dream. I'm nearly to the point where I don't even care if they ever get together.

    And more point:

Yup, loved this episode (though Ed's a boy scout because you can be so much naughtier in a lucid dream with very little repurcussions...)

I find this show entertaining at times and incredibly annoying at others, but this was one of the most creative hours I've ever seen on network TV. Well done! [IMG]

    "Dance an Irish jig."

I missed the first 15 minutes, but this was the most creative TV episode I've seen since the Chicago Hope musical episode.

Definite Emmy material. Probably the best hour of television I've seen in many moons.

great episode, nice to see Ed move along with Carol not being the core of his thoughts. Now, what will the "real" Carol do that Ed has moved on?
