Got my VA degree in Economics many moons ago then went into Banking and Real Estate. For fun or when I have had a few too many toddys I like to stir up controversy with people who consider Economics the dry science. Nothing is more controversial than arguments over money.

All of my friends on Wall Street say that the firms don't really encourage their recruits to major in econ. The professors instill in their students mindsets that the firms find to be false and difficult to reteach. They prefer history majors. Personally, bond trading and the like are way too boring for me. If I wanted to stare at an Excel spreadsheet for hours on end, I might as well learn to program. Money is good though...
