echostar dvd player/reciever (1 Viewer)

has anyone heard any new on the new dvd player/reciever that echostar is going to be coming out with,i have seen press release photos of it and a few interviews on it at the past years consumer electronics show but have not heard anything else on it.

Dish scrapped the idea being that you can buy DVD players very cheap now and I guess it was not cost effective for them to do it.

Yeah we played with a prototype at work and it wasn't very full featured. It was for the best. Besides, it probably wasn't the best idea to combine a solid-state device like a satellite IRD with a mechanical device like a DVD player. Better to have these things as seperate units.
