Would love to have Midway from 1976 (another film released in Sensurround) in 4K that Indicator released in 2k with all the extras but in region A.

Nice! Now bring on the Airports, Two Minute Warning, Rollercoaster…

Shout Factory might still own the rights to Two Minute and Rollercoaster. Kino apparently has the rights to the Airport series, but no announcement has been made yet.

Too bad Disney has no interest in Fox's library as we'd have The Poseidon Adventure and The Towering Inferno in 4K by now if Fox was still a solo owned studio.

Ok the last time it was the "original" Sensurround audio, it was a dual mono mix with a kinda weak LFE channel as opposed to the original LCR+LFE mix. On the other hand, the "5.1 remix" appeared to be that stereo mix as the rears were dead silent and the LFE was much, MUCH stronger. I suspect we'll be getting this again.

Also I'll be surprised if they include the original Warning Screen that the Shout blu-ray had.

Kino indicated that the TV cut of "Airport '77" would not be included which means I have no interest in what they do (I'm frankly still ticked off at Kino for their botch job on the "Columbo" release and haven't been interested in giving them much business since then). With "Earthquake" if the extras aren't duplicated with the TV cut etc. there is no reason for me to do a 4K of that.

I would also like to see a release of the Indicator versions of not just "Midway" but "Gray Lady Down" and "MacArthur" which had extras available unique to their Region B versions.

Earthquake looks like it is coming directly from Universal itself. Note there is no mention of any other disc studio on the packaging and it includes a digital download code as well which the boutiques never include.

From what I gather, that was less on Kino and more on one of the rights holders.
They never gave us an explanation on that which didn't sit well with me. That was compounded by the fact that the audio on the first season was botched because the music/FX track channel somehow got layered on top of the regular audio channel and consequently the music is too loud and the dialogue gets drowned out in a number of scenes.

Definitely picking this up...been wanting to get the Special Edition DVD for like forever, along with Towering Inferno, but I'll get this instead. I have the two-disc Special Edition of Poseidon Adventure, though, and still watch it every New Year's Eve...

I agree about the TV cut of '77 not being included -- I'll probably pass on buying that set just for that, and continue watching my Terminal Pack DVD collection.

Which studio is putting out Earthquake...is it Universal or Kino?

It's Universal doing it themselves. The Shout version with the extras is still available I think.

No, not a 4K. I'm just talking about their Blu-Ray release that had the TV cut and extras that the Universal 4K is not duplicating. Sorry for the confusion there.

Wait -- are we talking about Earthquake or Airport 77?

Sorry if I'm misunderstanding...
