NASA has kindly created a gallery of satellite images available on the web. Many of them are quite impressive and beautiful, and all are available as high-resolution ~20MB TIFF (compressed, some are 40MB+ uncompressed) files.

The Landsat: Earth as Art exhibit highlights images that were selected on the basis of aesthetic appeal. These images use the visceral avenue of art to convey the thrilling perspective of the Earth that Landsat provides to the viewer.
