I just bought a 1 1/2 year old Powermaster 2000 for $2,900. This sucker is heavy (120 lbs). The Fedex guy just left it at my door while I was out of town. My wife and daughter had a fun time dragging it inside the house. I hadn't mentioned to her that I spent for $$$ on HT stuff, HEHEHE.

Anyway I think the amp is everything the critics say it is. Very fully soundstage almost 3-D. In fact when I play it in straight 2 channel stereo mode, it almost sounds like my L7 music mode. It sounds very different than my B&K 7270 which is a great amp, don't get me wrong. I guess the Powermaster is in a different league.

If there any fellow Powermaster owners out there, are there any operating tips?

Well this should keep me satisfied for awhile, maybe six months.

I just had the same experience with an Aragon 8008x3. The improvement in my system sounds was unbelievable!

These experiences we're having it just a reminder of what we already know: EVERY component of an audio system is decisive in determining the quality of that system.

And components do not sound alike, even among high quality components.

And -- dammit -- there is always something better out there.

My wallet doesn't like that last one very much...

Unfortunately, my ears also have something to do with it.
