Isn't NBC doing all or most of its prime time programming in HD now? I noticed "Frasier" (the only other NBC show I've watched this week) was in HD.

Nope, they are doing very little in HDTV. CBS is doing almost all of their primetime shows in HDTV.

    Conan (December?)
    Frasier
    Crossing Jordan
    In-Laws
    American Dreams

Ewww....Even though I knew it was coming, it was pretty shocking!

I'm taking about our favorite (now Ex)chief surgeon.

Patrick I was just going to post about it...so far this has been a very good episode. I love when everything goes crazy.

Well him getting an arm chopped off is better than what happened to him in Robocop!

    Heheh.

Is it just me, or does Maura Tierney (Abby) get better looking each season?

Hmm - I saw ER in HDTV tonight, but Fraiser was not for some reason....? Werid, because the show after Frasier (can't remember the name) was in HD as well....I just found it odd that my local NBC didnt pass along Fraiser... ?

So is ER going to be in HD all season?

I knew "you know what" was coming and I was just about crawling out of my seat waiting for it. I wish I hadn't known, but knowing didn't make it any less disturbing, just less surprising.

The whole thing kind of reminded me of Alex Zanardi.

As far as the HD picture quality, it was below average. CSI whips it.

I had read about "you know what" a month or so ago, but had forgotten about it until it happened. I about fell off of my couch. That one got an instant replay on the ol' TiVo... [IMG]
Anyone who watched the late, great "NewsRadio" knows what a hottie Maura Tierney was on that show (especially the first couple of seasons when she wore those miniskirts). As a couple of characters remarked, the new 'do does work better with her face. Hope they keep it.
Overall, I'd have to say it was a pretty good start to the 9th season. I appreciate even more the way they handled the Mark Greene storyline at the end of last season - the characters (and audience) have mourned, and therefore the new season kicks off moving forward instead of looking back. [IMG] to the writers. "ER" stays on my must-see list.

As soon as I saw the warning at the beginning of the episode, I knew the spoilers on Romano were true.
I was winching when the helicopter scene played out (since I knew what was possibly coming), and then it happened and I was like "Ugh! Ewww! That's definitely gonna leave a mark!"
Romano has always been portrayed as an unlovable, distant man (though a skillful surgeon), who is blunt to a fault, and keeps people at bay. It wasn't shocking to me that he'd have no one to come look for him in the hospital and comfort him after his major accident. He's got the loner personality (of which, only his perceived wealth as a surgeon gets him the companionship of women, not his personality).

So, is it possible to grow all that hair in a 2 week span (talking about Abby's longer hair this season)? [IMG]
