For those who have DVI enabled by either comcast cable or other sources ex: DVD player, is the picture quality that much better than that of component video? Is DVI worth the $100 for the cord just to hook it up?

    Thanks to all that reply,

I'm using DVI out from my DVD player to my projector. It definitely makes a big difference. However, I do have a digital display. Analog displays do not see such an increase in picture quality.

Also, DVI cables are not that expensive. You can get a good one, even a long DVI cable, as long as it's not fibre, for a lot less than $100.

I have the Sammy HD-DVD and use a DVI for the connection. The picture is great! (For the 4 days my PT-53WX53 looked good) I never hooked the component connections for comparison though. From what I understand the DVI is the only way to get 1080i out of my unit. I figure with no D to A and A to D conversion it cannot hurt.
