DVI to HDMI cable (1 Viewer)

I am using a DVI to HDMI cable from a Motorolla HD cable box to a HD CRT TV and only the HD channels will be displayed. Am I doing something wrong or is this normal for this type of cable?

i think it has more to do with the configuartion of your cable box than the cable. dvi and hdmi cables will pass whatever signal given. perhaps you're cable box only passes hd via dvi? just a thought.
