DVI TO COMPONENT? is it possible (1 Viewer)

Hello all, I have just bought a samsung hd931 dvd player. This player is supposed to be hi-def. The problem that I am having is this: The hi-def signal only plays throughout the dvi output from the player into the tv. Well I own the Mits wt-46809 tv without the promise module which means that i do not have a dvi input on my tv. I was wonderinmg if there is a cable or switch box that will allow me to go from dvi to component video.

There are such boxes, but they cost hundreds of dollars and I'm not sure but probably wouldn't work because of copy-protection. Check out the Momitsu DVD_V880, the other scaling player that outputs through component.

Perhaps im wrong but doesnt this player just scale DVD to 1080i? This wouldnt be High Def.

Well, no, its not a true high def picture on either of these players because its still regular old DVD, not HD-DVD. The DVD player scales to high-def, improving the picture and outputting at high-definition 1080i or 720p.
