I am about to purchase the SONY 34XBR910, and it has one DVI input.

I know I will be also getting a DVD player with a DVI output as well as a DVHS player with a DVI output.

What's the solution besides manually switching them?

The LG dvd player has a DVI switcher built in IIRC. It also has an HDTV Tuner for OTA stuff.

    MSRP Is $599.

Actually, I don't think the LST-3510A has DVI switching. It just has a single HDCP compliant DVI output.

Anyone know of any downsides to using these? I am guessing since they are digital that there should be absolutely no loss of signal quality, correct? What about syncronization?

It looks like Better Cables is reselling the Gefen 2x1 and 4x1 HDTV switchers. I have a 4x1, and it works just fine so far. There's no price penalty ordering from BC, as the price is identical to Gefens [IMG]

You can improve signal quality, since the switcher is active it regenerates and the output cable is for all intents and purposes the beginning of the cable run.

    Cheers,

I think there is a Sony ES receiver that is capable of DVI switching. I don't know if you're actually considering purchasing a new receiver.
