Alright, I hooked up my RCA D56W20 to a HTPC I put together and hooked it up via a DVI cable. It works fine, except the resoluion is limited to 720x480. At that resolution its hard to see whole webpages or even install certain programs since the install menus are cut off. No, this isn't an overscan issue, the resolution just isn't high enough to display certain items in their entirety.
The TV is HDTV ready, so I thought I could jack up the resolution more than that - apparently this is not the case. The computer doesn't let me go higher than 720x480 and if I use PowerStrip to force it higher, the TV goes blank and I have to reset the settings.
Now, if I use a VGA to component cable, I should theoretically be able to display at higher resolutions, right?
I am using an ATI Radeon 9250 with the latest drivers and Windows MCE 2005
