DVI DirecTV question. (1 Viewer)

I can't seem to find this answer anywhere, so here goes:
Just purchased a Samsung DirecTV HDTV reciever. Now, will the DVI input/OP carry non HD programs too? Or will I have to change input to watch regular sat. TV? IF so,that would use S-Vid for regular Sat TV, and the DVI for HD. Seems a little execssive, but is that what I'll need to do? Or will JUST the DVI connection be suffice?

The DVI connection is ok for both types of signals (hd and analog).
