Ok, I have heard some implications regarding the new sony model the HS that imply that this model had a DVI Input and HDCP decoder built in, however on the sony website it dosent mention the HDCP, or DVI, it only says that there is a monitor output.

can anyone clarify this for me? I dont want to pass up the opportunity to get a future proofed HDTV, but it seems rather unlikely this is the one.

    cheers
    John

All of the Sony models with DVI will feature HDCP. I looked at the actual input on the 32hs500 at Best Buy and it says DVI/HDCP. Look at the Press Announcement on the Sony site.Sony Press Release

Will they also include firewire? I am in the market for a new TV this fall, and I am just getting caught up on all this DVI/IEEE stuff and I want a set with both.

It is my hope Pioneer comes out with these this fall.

The new 32" HS set from Sony does include a DVI interface but no Firewire. An interesting if not downright wierd feature they added to this set is a memory stick slot to the front panel. this allows you to plug in the mem stick from your Sony digital camera to voew a slide show on your new HDTV?.!.?.!...

The only manufacturer committed to both DVI and IEEE1394 so far is Hitachi on their high-end projections. I don't know if Pioneer will include both.
