DVDs can now do 5.1 AC-3!

    Okay, so I could have named the thread better. I mean that we can make our own DVD-Rs with 5.1. Oh, well.

    I just got an e-mail from Ulead that I know would be of interest to some in here because of previous discussions.

    The ball is in Sonic's court now. There is no legitimate technical reason that DVDit PE cannot import 5.1 AC3. Now that a cheaper competitor is willing to do it, let's see if Sonic removes the 5.1 choker on DVDit PE.

    I make 5.1 AC-3 DVD-Rs all the time using DVD Studio Pro from Apple. Works great! The source material is from my DTivo.

    Umm, Mike, how do you make them 5.1? There's no 5.1 mix...

    I wasn't aware that DTivo could store 5.1 streams. I was thinking you were taking the 2.0 and recording 5.1 [​IMG]
