Barnaby Jones is the other one I can think of that needs a re-release with all uncut episodes. The current DVD set from VEI is littered with edited episodes.

Amen. I'm just starting Season 4 and I've noticed Act 1, Act 2. Act 3, Act 4, and the Epilog are not in a lot of episodes. A lot of the episodes just seem to end when it seems there should be more there.

Any chance The original Melrose place Gets a Blu Ray release? It’s a Paramount property if that makes a difference. I was actually able to get the 2009 Melrose place show in Blu Ray

Both MP and 90210 were shot on film and edited on video meaning they'd have to go back to the OCNs, scan and recompose the whole show ala Star Trek TNG.

And they'd have to do the same thing w/O-R CBS Dallas, especially the later gos when that classic 1978-91 serial was on its decline and started being edited on tape (1986-91).

I would like to see the Timmy and Lassie episodes complete. It is a shame that pirated shows are marketed. On the other hand, if the networks refuse to release shows, pirating at least makes them available, albeit of low quality. I have always felt it is a shame that studios and networks hold their efforts hostage. They should set up a company to release their products, all of them, and that would stop the pirating. Personally, I would sell my soul to see "The Best Of Broadway" version of "Arsenic And Old Lace" with Karloff and Lorre. I know it survives.

Which means Blu Ray is unlikely for either of them I take it

I wish The Andy Griffith Show DVDs would use these original closing credits, which are similar to the main title sequence but with the production credits seen over them, also with the sponsor tags.

Each DVD set should also be divided in fifths over the 30-32 episodes each season:
Seasons 1, 3, 4 and 5: 32 episodes (episodes per disc layout: 7-7-6-6-6)
Approximate total running time: 32 x 26 min = 832 min

Season 2: 31 episodes (episodes per disc layout: 7-6-6-6-6)
Approximate total running time: 31 x 26 min = 806 min

Seasons 6, 7 and 8 (all in color): 30 episodes (episodes per disc layout: 6-6-6-6-6)
Approximate total running time: 30 x 26 min = 780 min

It's not that it would be technically challenging; it's just that combined 90210 and MP have over 500 episodes. Very costly to open up all those cans and put everything back together. As far as I've gathered over the years, the precious OCNs and other materials were saved, so it's up to them if they ever think it's feasible to revisit those two shows, if they find the necessity to make them hi-def for streaming. If I were king of the world, this already would have happened, but I'm not.

Some episodes from the early seasons are edited poorly and the endings are cut off. Episodes from the later seasons seem to be edited a little better with the endings left in. Such a shame though that this Barnaby Jones series was released with the majority of episodes being edited versions.

Are there any DVD sets you would like to see re-done, for example, to correct poor picture quality?

One of my solutions would be to re-arrange the episodes included in each set in an order that respects the picture quality and also the original time length of the pilot episode (the pilot episodes of The Young Lawyers and Longstreet were sped-up to fit). In some cases, this would require one extra disc to cover each season's episodes comfortably.

For example: The Young Lawyers (Paramount, 1970-71)

Disc 1:
1. "Pilot" (90 minutes) (October 28, 1969)
2. "Is There a Good Samaritan in the House?" (September 21, 1970)
3. "A Simple Thing Called Justice" (September 28, 1970)

Disc 2:
4. "The Two-Dollar Thing" (October 5, 1970)
5. "The Alienation Kick" (October 12, 1970)
6. "Where's Aaron?" (October 19, 1970)
7. "We May Be Better Strangers" (October 26, 1970)

Disc 3:
8. "The Glass Prison" (November 2, 1970)
9. "The Russell Incident" (November 9, 1970)
10. "At the Edge of the Night" (November 16, 1970)
11. "Are You Running with Me, Jimmy?" (November 23, 1970)

Disc 4:
12. "A Busload of Bishops" (November 30, 1970)
13. "The Legacy of Miles Turner" (December 7, 1970)
14. "Remember Chris Gately?" (December 14, 1970)
15. "MacGillicuddy was Always a Pain In the Neck" (December 21, 1970)

Disc 5:
16. "False Witness" (January 4, 1971)
17. "Legal Maneuver" (January 20, 1971)
18. "The Outspoken Silence" (February 3, 1971)
19. "The Victims" (February 10, 1971)

Disc 6:
20. "The Bradbury War" (February 17, 1971)
21. "And the Walls Came Tumbling Down" (February 24, 1971)
22. "Down at the House of Truth, Visiting" (March 3, 1971)

Disc 7:
23. "The Whimper of Whipped Dogs" (March 10, 1971)
24. "Conrad and the Taxi Squad" (March 17, 1971)
25. "I've Got a Problem" (March 24, 1971)

I would like to see "The Magnificent Seven TV Series redone, the one that was issued back in the 2000's was awful quality and there was no excuse for it. Even Encore Westerns had better prints when they showed it.

For the first season of Dynasty, the issue is more with using the newer HD resolution transfers and adding back in the commentaries.

The single-sided discs dvd re-release of season 1 by CBS/Paramount, used an older transfer and didn't include the episode commentaries on the old double-sided flipper discs dvd set released by Fox back in the mid-2000s.

the Adam West Batman series, there were several hours of "extras" that could have been abandoned that have showed up on various documentaries and on youtube.

Do any of these present the 3-hour pilot uncut?

I haven't seen it uncut. Dunno if it has ever been officially released on disc.

Lets hope that HD restoration from several years ago, has an uncut version of the pilot. Somebody who has seen it streaming, might know if it is uncut or not.

Big "A-M-E-N" to all of that, Lou. These companies would make me a pauper if they'd re-release vintage shows uncut, unedited, remastered, and on single--sided discs AS WELL AS never-before released vintage series. I'm in for all of it.

To #2 I'd add Gomer Pyle and Happy Days, among others

To #3 I'd add Father Knows Best S1, among others.

Gary "as it is right now these companies are getting very, very, very little of my cash" O.
Yes to Gomer and FKB!
