Wanted to add my 2 cents on Kentucky Fried Movie. I had the same problem a few months ago and returned it to a store for an exchange. Had another problem with Nightmare Before Christmas. Just another warning.

My disc of Polanski's 'The Pianist' played fine when I got it six months ago. Now the picture freezes at the layer change and the disc stops. I have tried it on two DVD players and my Macintosh computer and it freezes identically with all of them.
